There are a few other places in town to do insurance - I would go there instead. The person doing up our insurance made a huge error and marked that my husband had less than 10 years of driving experience. On our two vehicles combined, this cost us $600 extra over the course of 6 months. ICBC wouldn't do anything about it and the broker, who's mistake it was made things worse. We would have to call and remind her to contact ICBC...months of her doing nothing we gave up.

Wanted to get a confirmation on my motorcycle skills test. I called in several times and just got voice mail. Once I was able to get through, I asked for a confirmation email. I get an email with a different date than what was stated over the phone. I was then put on hold and put through to another person's voice mail. I had to call back. All I wanted was confirmation that I had indeed booked my skills test and that they knew I would be there. Please note that they DO NOT book actual times! It's a very silly system and you could be waiting for a long time to do your test if a bunch of people show up at the same time.
Some staff are amazing, some are truly truly awful. All have inadequate support and software tools to properly support customers. I just tried to get my drivers license sorted, and the gentleman explained that I needed two non-drivers license phot IDa in order to do this. Strange I thought, but okay. So I drove across town to pickup my passport and other ID, return to Squamish Insurance only to be served by a very polite lady who did not need any other form of ID other than my existing license (kind of as you would expect). The gentleman I first dealt with just had no consideration for the time he was wasting for other people. On a previous visit this gentleman had suggested I fly to New Zealand to pickup some license documentation in order to get things transferred to BC (his only possible solution required multiple days and thousands of dollars in expense). Fortunately a colleague of his was evesdropping and enquired - she ran a 15 second search, found me in the system and resolved my issue in about 3 minutes. Im not sure of the guys name but just hope you dont have to deal with him if you visit.
